what is going on here??? Am I just the only one NOT having problems?? Lock screen? better now i can go to messages, phone, camera without completely unlocking the phone, thats what i downloaded apps for before. Home screen? better, have better folders that show what apps are in them, calling? better look. hooking up my hdmi to my tv? wayyyyy better. car dock? omg such an improvement. not only do i have a ton more app shortcuts, its also much easier to navigate. ive also seen someone complaining that you have to use verizon nav? ummmm i click nav and it goes straight to my usual google nav. soooo much more i could say about the update, even my battery seems to be better, still sucks but what smartphone doesnt these days right? i would love to get the maxx but razr is working ok for me now so ill just stick with it unless i can get a discount. im just not sure where all these problems are coming from for yall. There is not one thing about the old OS that i like better than ICS. And come on the Face recognition is awesome! Plus the actual voice recognition for txting, searching, ect. is better than ever before and wayyyyyy ahead of any other device out today. I rarely use the keyboard anymore, its just THAT good. sorry for my shitty grammer/ not really in the mood to be an english teacher today/and no im on my laptop so no blaming on my phone. But to everyone at Motorola, and who had something to do with Androids, and ICP, youve done an amazing job and i do not have one single complaint............other that the battery, but like i said thats any smartphone. BEST PHONE, SERVICE, AND OS. Im sorry to those that have had problems, but ive not had one! LOVE YA ICS!

I echo your comments HAMMZ28. Other than the first day or so which was rocky, ICS has been amazing for me. Love the instant and nameable folders and all the others goodies ICS brings to my Maxx. I am thoroughly happy with it overall. My only complaint is that the screen is using about twice as much power than before. It doesn't affect my battery life. To anyone downloading it, I recommending doing a factory data reset after you download ICS. I did this and it seemed to smooth everything out. The update is a complete system update and a very large one at that. It took my phone a couple of days and everything has been great since.

Not sure on that one. I took it off the charger at 11AM and I'm at 90 percent.

Please remember that it is your "Recommendation" to do a factory reset, and should be taken as such. It is not necessary to do one, I have been from eClair to Froyo, from Froyo to GB, and now from GB to ICS, and I have yet to do a factory reset.

That's why I said that I recommend it...I'm glad you've never had to do a FDR. They are a pain. However I found that my phone functioned better on ICS after doing a FDR. It is only an observation.

I love ICS, I hate the way Verizon and Motorola rolled it out with broken flash and keep trying to put it off on Adobe. At the very least non-flash support should have been made very clear to those that updated before they did so.

Adobe has been quoted numerous times that they won't support and Android phones starting with 4.1 and forward. That said, when I updated to ICS Flash was uninstalled. After reading a link from Adobe,I discovered that the Razr and Maxx aren't on the list of supported devices with 4.0.4, though they are supported with 2.3.6. Motorola is owned by Google and they are obivously pushing its Chrome Browser. I downloaded Chrome and it works superbly as a smartphone browser. Videos play flawlessly. Its extremely intuitive. HTML5 is the wave of the future and Chrome will support it. I agree though that Verizon and Motorola could've been more forthcoming about it.

I also like ics very much. I had a hotspot issue with it losing connection frequently with gb. Now on ics everything runs flawlessly. Was a easy upgrade for me with no issues. I also didnt do a fdr but was ready to if anything arose. This is by far the best phone with the best os ive ever owned and probably will be until my contract ends in 2014 . Jesse

You're right... I love the way every 30 minutes or so or every time I swipe down on my notification area, that it asks me which input method I want and forces me to choose, even though I never use anything other than Swype. And there is no way to say "Don't show me this dialog again." Yeah I love that. I also love the way no matter what I am doing, if it detects a new Wifi signal, it pops up this full screen and forces me to say Dont Connect This Time... And again no option to not show me this again... But sure enough, if the same wifi drops out and comes back, there is that "friendly" message again. Boy this ICS is just swell! And lets not forget that all the apps on my SD card no longer work because we've gone back to Verizon doesn't want you to be able to put apps on the SD card. Big Red wants control of everything you do with your phone... And the slowness and the crashes to boot. This phone does abosultely NOTHING that I want a phone to do. I got an important call, saw it in notifications so I clicked on it. The Wifi pop up happened to open so the notification for the call was gone. No problem, I'll just go into the Recent Calls.... WHAT! It's not there? Why? How do I call this person back if they didn't leave a number? I will give them 3 months to work these bugs out and if not, I am done with EVERYTHING and everything I have is Verizon. I'm already not happy because in the store they just had to sell my wife a Netbook with Windows 7 32 bit. Had to reinstall it using a USB stick and then it asked for a key. No problem... It's on the sticker on the bottom. Only problem is, the sticker is heat sensitive and the netbook gets so hot the entire MS license sticker has turned black. So I call to get my key and I keep getting transfered and no mater who they transfer me to, they hang up on me. I spend 6 hours on the phone and got nowhere. My only option is to box everything back up and take it back to the Verizon store and let them do it. I am not pleased... And since we have 5 cell phones (all with the max data plans I might add), two air card devices, FIOS, Internet, TV Warranty and land line with Verizon, our bill averages $600/mo or more. I guess they can afford to lose that monthly income though because they are not willing to help (or cannot help) with any issue I am having. VERY VERY Disappointed!

I hear what you are saying about ICS, sounds like each manufacturer modifies ICS for their phone. On my phone, I can shut off all the notifications you cant, which is screwed up. I would be royally p*ssed too if I could not shut those off. You don't have a recent call tab like I do, again, that would really p*ss me off also. I truly believe that any phone with limited device storage should not be running ICS. My phone also I don't have the option to move Apps to SD.
Also, my 2 cents on Verizon, I have had more than my share of days I would have loved to throw my phone through one of their windows, I have left, I am back. All carriers suck in some way, mine as well stay with sucky carrier with good coverage.

I am with ya, after the crap I put up with GB, ICS is great, but whole story is I did change phones. I took a chance and got a MOTO, left HTC, and I am never looking back. I after listening to people who had no problems with GB, I think the manufacturers modify the OS for their phones. My HTC with GB was routinely having fits, and it was replaced twice under warranty, same fits, different IMEI. (LOL)
