I'm seeing terribly short battery life since the LTE upgrade. I charged my machine last night before I went to bed. In the morning, I downloaded the newspaper via WiFi. I was reading it on the train (half an hour), so I had no mobile data access (that I know of). I turned the screen off. By noon, the battery was fully discharged.
Is this my unit, or is this normal? Should I turn off mobile data every time I stop using it?

I don't know if this is normal, as I haven't gotten the update yet. However, some people with LTE-enabled phones complain about LTE being a battery hog. They use an app called LTE On/Off. I don't know if the app is compatible with the XOOM, but you can give it a shot. This app allows for easy toggle (instead of having to go through the menus) for turning the LTE signal off. You can still use 3G speeds, if desired.
