I keep getting a msg from Verizon: announcement 4 switch 4119-7 when I call a number. Its my boss' phone number. I cannot call tech support. I only have my cell phone. Does anyone know what this means?

Do you remember if it said anything else? Also, are you calling him from your contact list? Try dialing the # directly and see if it's the same.

All it says is that the call cannot be completed as dialed and then gives me the announcement. Also, I did try to dial the number and still got the same result.

Are you using the full 10-digit phone number (no leading '1'?)

I've tried both with and without the 1. Still same thing.

Have you tried calling the # from another phone...maybe their # was accidentally forwarded to a non working #

Am I missing something? If this is only happening for one number, your boss' number, why can't you call tech support from your cell phone?

You can not call tech support from your own cell phone. (Customer service you can) But I am sure they have a friend, family member, work or a store nearby with a phone they could use.
To the OP, Are you having the issue when only in one location or does it occur anywhere?

You can call tech support from your cell phone; *611 and then option 3 for tech support.

That's true, but it's recommended that you call from a different phone so that Tech Support can troubleshoot the phone that's having an issue.

Last time I tried, the message was to hang up and call from another phone.

I also get this same message when calling one of my parents. My mother had recently switched carriers from Verizon to a low cost carrier in her market but kept the same ph #. I can send SMS messages to the same number so I know it is valid and she can call me without any problems. I can call other non-Verizon numbers.
What gives Verizon? She is one of my emergency contacts so being able to contact her on a whim in an emergency is vital.
This isn't phone specific, as I'm using a Pixel 4 XL.
