Yes. Hopefully Motorola learned from the Nexus 6 issues and submitted all the IMEI numbers to the Verizon Wireless database of compatible devices.

I had a ton of trouble today and still can't get my new Pure activated. Supposedly, the IMEI for my phone is in the block that has been cleared but Verizon's system still won't accept it for linking to a SIM. I'll see tomorrow if the store can do better than the phone support.
Thanks Ann I was able to take he Nano Sim out of my iphone 5s and put it the Moto X pure and it connected with out any issues.
