I was checking to see if maybe the headphone jack was to blame, but even with lint in the mic, it would still pick up vibrations. Do you still have warranty on the unit?
Chat online through My Verizon-Contact Us-Live Chat, if you can or call them from another phone. They should send a replacement MAXX, that is, unless a fix is found during that time.
You came to the right place for help fire24. Have you tried using a bluetooth device? Are your callers able to hear you then? Does it happen on every call? Did you remove any screen protectors or case then test the calls?

I'm having the same problem with my Droid Maxx. Callers can't hear me, and the phone doesn't register voice input. When I use a headset with its own mic, either wired or Bluetooth, everything works normally. I checked the phone's microphone and couldn't find any obvious obstruction, and I'm not using a case or screen protector.
