I have a Razr Maxx HD. I am having troubles sending SMS messages especially while on WIFI. This started about a week or more ago. I can receive messages but just get the sending arrow and it won't send. I have cleared the system cache with no luck.

I'd love to help you find out what's going on! Are these messages picture messages, or just text? When did this begin? Are you able to make & receive calls? Share details, and we'll figure this out in no time!

Picture messages send just fine; it's only text that have an issue. It
started a few weeks ago (maybe 3?). I can make and receive calls. It is
just sending messages that doesn't work on wifi. I can receive texts too.
It seems to happen at random although it is very often now. I pretty much
can't use wifi anymore if I want to be able to send text messages.

We definitely don't want this to affect your ability to use WiFi, Dirtrider2004. If you go to your Settings>Apps>ALL>Messaging and clear data/cache then restart your phone, are you able to send text messages when connected to WiFi?

I've cleared the phone cache and the app cache with no change.

Turning Wi-Fi off doesn't make a huge difference since my connection is barely 4G. I continue to have problems sending texts whether Wi-Fi is on or off.
Available storage on device is 19.17GB, on card is 14.08GB.
I did a recovery-> system cache clearing, this did not help. I am following you direction to apps messaging cache clearing. I'll let you know if this works.
I've also been having a problem last couple of weeks where sometimes the phone will get very hot in my pocket, then the battery drains very quickly.

Thanks for the info and trying out those steps. What software version is currently on the phone? Settings>About Phone>Baseband version. What zipcode are you in when this happens?

Thanks for the details! How many bars of signal were showing on the device when the text messages did not go through in comparison to when the text messages started to send? Is the phone too hot to touch? If so we do not want you to touch a device that is extremely hot. The bars remained at 1-2, were not different from any other time. Yes, very hot! I don't think it could cause a burn but definitely hot. I will try my local store to see if they can run a check. Thanks for your help!

I wanted to give you an update. Something new with my phone not sending
messages...
Yesterday 9/30/14 my phone was not sending any messages just showed sending
inside the message. It took 2+ hrs for them to start being sent. While it
was trying to send my phone becomes very very hot and completely drained my
battery within 3 hrs from a full charge.

I'm having the same problem. It's with any kind of text message. I receive an error saying message not sent. My phone is being very slow to respond also. Soft reset does not work. I have done a hard reset a few months ago, not interested in doing that again. I still don't have my phone set back up the way I liked it.

Also, how much available device memory do you have available on your Droid Razr Maxx HD? If I can have you test your text messaging with wifi off then that would be great.

I've tried both the stock texting app & SMS Go Pro. It has the same problem
with both. I have 14 GB of available storage. I can send text messages when
the wifi is off. It can send text messages sometimes when the wifi is on,
but normally has issues.
