Cannot record video with any apps

When I try to record video using the stock camera app, it briefly shows a "Camera Error" message and then force closes. If I clear the app's data/cache and then reboot, it'll work, but taking a picture breaks it again until I repeat that process (clearing the data without rebooting doesn't fix it). If I use any third-party camera app, like Camera ICS, video recording will not work unless I've gone through that same reset process.

I was able to take a mix of video and pictures using Camera ICS, as long as I did not launch the stock app and take a picture with it - that breaks things again.

Sounds like your stock camera app may be corrupt. I know it's a (removed), but you may have to do a factory data reset to resolve it.

Have you tried what Ref suggested I would try, doing these few thing if you haven't power cycle, Clear the system Cache and then if that does not solve the issue go ahead with the F.R.

Hello kurupted,

Using the stock camera app on your Razr Maxx is a critical function on the device. After all, we want you to enjoy every aspect of your device. May I ask have you tried the suggestion that SoccerRef12 & B33 posted? If so then what were the results? If you can update us on the status of the camera app then we can pick up with this issue and troubleshoot with you. We're looking forward to your reply.

Thank you...

I haven't yet tried that since that's a real headache. I did try uninstalling the update to the app to restore the factory original version, and that did not solve it.

To clarify if needed: I can take video as long as that's the first thing that I do. Taking a picture makes video recording impossible afterwards.

Hi kurupted,

Thanks for your reply. Are you using any 3rd party apps? If so, when you did the factory reset, did you reinstall your 3rd apps back onto the device? If so, I would suggest un installing a few 3rd apps to see any of them are contributing to the problem.
