Command center widget clock/alarm does not work

When I tap on the clock in the command center widget, NOTHING happens - it does not bring up the "alarm" option like the user manual says. If I tap on the + sign, it does expand and show me the battery life and weather. Just nothing with the time or alarm. Also, when I go to my APPS, there is no "clock" or "alarm". Suggestions?
