Hello,
My contacts have multiplied in my phone and is causing my phone's performance to degrade when searching for contacts. I have my contact synced from Facebook, google, linkedin, outlook, etc. For some reason, each instance of my contacts are splintered into separate contact lines. In some cases I have over 50 line items for one person - each of the 50 line items has the same phone number. I researched online and it seems to be a backup issue with Verizon. Please let me know how I can automatically merge all my contacts back in there condensed forms.
Thanks,
Brent

vehdynBD, I do not like it when that happens to my device. Let's work together to stop the multiple contacts. Let's merge the contacts so it can be under one name. Here is how http://vz.to/1jVUXir. Let us know how it works.

I am having the same issue since recent updates to the system. Selecting contacts one by one to "join" is not a reasonable solution. I have hundreds of contacts in my phone.

Me to! It is only phone or Verizon Cloud contacts. I've ruled out Facebook, LinkedIn (as reported elsewhere by others), WhatsApp, Skype, Google. The multiple contacts all belong to Phone or Verizon Cloud. They've merged to the point there is no additional merging allowed. After deleting, they return. I have ~359 contacts - the Cloud shows I have over 3,500. I've turned off all sync except Google.

We certainly want to ensure that issues with duplicate contacts are alleviated! May I ask if you've turned off the cloud sync for any period of time to review if Verizon Cloud is syncing the contacts? When did the issue begin?
