Droid Turbo keeps rebooting

Since the last update My Turbo keeps rebooting by itself. Does anyone know what the issue is?

I did do cache clearing and factory reset but it still continues to reboot several times a day randomly and this kinda driving me crazy. Who owns the responsibility to get it fixed ??? Is it a hardware issue or is it just a software bug ?? Is this problem acknowledged and is someone working on it ????

Mine turbo was great until lollipop...My phone had rebooted many times since lollipop, had it replaced with a new droid turbo, same issue.  I've had it since 10/15, it rebooted 4 times, including once in SAFE mode.  I contacted verizon again, and they want to send me another phone, and not install anything on it for at least 3 days to make sure the phone is "ok".   I'm pretty sure running it SAFE mode and having it reboot means there is an OS issue, not an app issue.  I am really hating verizon right now.

Texascritter, we don't want you to give up. We want your device to be working in tip top shape. When you completed the factory data reset, did you leave any third party application off the device and tested the device? Will the phone power cycle while you're doing a ceratin feature on the phone? Please keep us posted.

Just another update on my Turbo. It still is rebooting severla times a

day, but when I updated the OS a couple of weeks ago, it worked great for

about 5 days, Now back to its unexpected updates whenever it wants. The

updates seem to coincide with storage warning. Although a few hours later

when the re-botting stops, the storage is fine. Always at least 20 GB

available.

BRSmith let's nip that rebooting in the bud. Do you currently have your phone backed up to our Verizon Cloud? You may check that here: http://vz.to/1NYqEkj The next step will be a Factory Reset and that will erase the phone: http://vz.to/1GtZvqt

Answer to everything Swipe the phone LOL it doesnt fix the crappy update that your Verizon Only Droid doesnt accept...... Neither does having NO 3rd party apps NOR leaving in safe mode.

Verizon has had me swipe my cell again, and leave for 24hrs in order to get a replacement, WTH do i pay insurance for??!!  Plus it isn't a year yet??!!  I am doing as they asked, but now i have other issues that don't pertain to shutting down, lets see how this phone call today goes:)  I left Sprint for a reason similar to this I would hate to tell Verzion bye bye and back to Sprint due to a Verizon Issue.....

Good Luck, BRSmith

Texascritter - it looks like you are frustrated and I couldn't agree more. These "fixes" don't really do anything and have not eliminated my problem which sounds similar to yours. I'm am seriously considering getting the new Nexus 6 that runs pure Android. I have had it with the slow rollouts of software only to get something with bugs that cause the phone to reboot right when I'm using it. On top of that tech support thinks the answer is wipe and reinstall. That may work some of the time but I think that there are enough documented problems, with all of us having tried the "fixes" so that it points to some buggy system software that we can't do anything about.

Not happy with Verizon right now especially since this phone was sold as an "exclusive"  flagship device a year ago. I would advise anyone thinking about the Turbo 2, which has some nice features, to rethink the purchase especially in light of the support that current turbo owners are receiving.

Yes I am very fustrated!!  Well I get my newly refurbished phone tomorrow. And it should have NO issues. We shall see. I was seriously thinking of the turbo 2 myself but you are correct and with it coming out without marshmallow to start sounds like trouble. I'm due for my upgrade in a couple months and it will be a BIG decision on staying and changing phones or going away completely. I can say I am disappointed in Verizon!

I am in the same boat...3rd droid turbo...all have the same rebooting issue...with or without any non-stock apps.  But all they keep offering me is another Droid Turbo......I am really starting to hate Verizon....

That's all they want to offer. Mine acted up with no apps and not even Google email etc  attached to it. I reinstalled them and I got reboot and Google apps error YET Verizon said Google apps need to stay running LOL..... I am going to give my NEW USED turbo a run when it comes in today but that doesn't mean Verizon will keep my business. I so have a few months left and I can roam free from their contract.

With the volume and number of complaints on this forum, as well as others, the issue is not with the apps on any one phone. It's a software issue that needs to be addressed.

I keep one of these units as a work phone and other than the Touchdown app for corporate e-mail, which I have used for years, the Turbo that I have is pristine - meaning absolutely no modifications to it.

Verizon need to provide some resources to figure out what's going on and support the customer. I think it's important, especially with this phone, because it was a Verizon exclusive.

I have done everything asked of me...but have been told I can only keep getting refurbished droid turbos.  On top of all that...now Google Play services keep crashing everytime I go into Gmail....I guess I will factory reset yet again...seems like a fun daily thing to do....I HATE THIS PHONE.

Do you happen to have an Android Wear watch?   I'm wondering if it could be a bluetooth issue....

I wasn't suggesting that they wouldn't work..I was more wondering if the bluetooth LE connection that those devices make, along with some other system process (maybe wi-fi connection/disconnection) are triggering the reboot.  A Fitbit makes the same (well..similar) bluetooth LE connection that my Android Wear watch does...

Texascritter,

Being able to have your phone work just the way it needs to is crucial. Your loyalty means everything to us and we want to make sure you don't go anywhere.  I'm very concerned to hear you've had this same issue with multiple devices. This makes me think it is more likely something added to the phone or a setting of some type. Can you try the device in safe mode for a day or so? http://vz.to/1Hbrx7D Does it have these issues?

I don't have much to add except that my phone still shuts down whenever it

wants and updates several times a day. The Verizon store did all that it

could, clean start, no apps added, everything.

As I mentioned earlier..a system update a few weeks ago helped, then got

steadily worse. Now I keep a second work phone with me if I have an urgent

call. Waiting for the next update hoping it gets fixed. Otherwise I am

stuck because there is a speck on my lens that is "water damage". No

warranty.

My biggest problem with their suggestion that is a third party all is...

Shouldn't the app just crash... Instead of taking down my whole phone? I

can't believe that we are all running the same bad app....
