I have had a Moto Z3 for about 6 months now. When I got the phone, it had software 8 on it and everything pretty much worked the same as my last phone.
Since the software 9 update, my email app doesn't want to work properly. I get repeated notifications of emails that I haven't read yet, I get another notification when I delete an email and worst of all, it won't show inline images in some emails.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this garbage? I have been trying setting changes and removing and reinstalling accounts for months now and still cant get it to work correctly.
Thanks

FlyingRph,
I'm so sorry to hear that you are having trouble with email! Let's see how we can help get it working, so you can enjoy your phone once again. What email provider are you using? Do you have multiple email addresses set up on your phone, or just one? Can you tell us more about the issue you are experiencing with inline images? This information will help us identify the issue, so we can give this resolved.

I have multiple email addresses in Yahoo and Gmail. I do not use the auto show images so I have to click the link to show the images and links but then I get the broken image symbol.
The only way I can read the emails is to use the view in a browser link. It does not happen on emails, just certain ones.

Sometimes email apps get wonky. Try deleting the accounts in the app and setting them up again. I have a different phone but have had to do that a few times when the app got buggy and that solved it.

I have a Moto z3, and I cannot assign a unique tone to email, whether it's the Gmail app, the Verizon Email app, or AOL. The option does not exist in settings; all it lets me see is whether or not it shows notifications. Was this feature discontinued in the latest upgrade?

Moto messed up that up a few years ago, after one of the Android OS version updates. The option to use custom sounds that did not come pre-installed on the phone just disappeared. Moto says it was a Google issue, but the option works fine on Google Pixel phones.
