Filter contacts when searching from phone?

Is there a reason contacts with no phone #'s are available when searching from the phone app?  Many of the contacts that transferred in from my yahoo mail account don't have phone #'s listed, but I have to sift through them all when trying to place an outbound call.  Is there a way to filter this so you see only contacts with phone #'s?

I'm sorry there isn't a native feature on this device that will filter those contacts as you requested. You may want to adjust the contacts on a PC or laptop and resync them. Or there may be a 3rd party app that may address this in the playstore.

I find this annoying also. Best thing to do if you haven't already, and when you have some time, is to go through them all and long press the ones you don't want to see, and tell it to hide them.

Like the above poster said, there is no way not to have this not happen (yet)
