Being able to use your phone while traveling in another country is definitely important so I completely understand your concern jcdennis.

You will be able to use your phone while in France. However, you need to make sure it is set up correctly. Go to Settings > More > either Mobile Networks or Cellular Networks > Global Data Roaming Access or Data Roaming Access to Deny, Allow once, or Allow access for all trips.
