Using the side volume button only controls the phone ringer and not the notification volume. It will put the notification to vibrate if set to vibrate, but if I set it to just above vibrate notifications are the same volume when it's turned up all the way.
I verified this by going to Settings > Sound > Volumes
However there is no option to link the Ringtone and Notification volume.
Thanks!

Thanks all.
I installed an app called Simple Volume to do this now. It's just unbelievable that it's not apart of the OS. I sure hope this is added in 5.1............................................................if the turbo ever gets it that is.

We understand wanting to control your device volumes easily. I apologize as the volumes keys service 3 functions in regards to sound. Volumes keys can control the ringtone volume when on the home screen, the earpiece volume during a call, and the media volume when playing music or a video. Unfortunately the notifications volume can not be controlled with the volume keys.

On mine and my wife's Turbo we have the app "Volume Control Roys" which allows you to tag two or more volume functions together. I also use "Slider Widget" on my Nexus 6 which would probably also work on the Turbo I would think. They both work great.

I'm glad you found an app to work. And no, this isn't changed in 5.1. My Nexus 6 has 5.1 and it's the same as the Turbo. I have the slider widget to control both.
