This is currently not possible unless you can find a way to root your phone and rooting your phone will void your warranty.

The start-up is on a sound File and disabling it, is usually impossible unless there is and adjustment setting in sounds you might look there but more in likely the sound will stay the same..
Settings >> Sounds Look through the Area..

Put the phone in silent mode before you shut down the phone.

This doesn't work like it did on previous models. Even in silent mode, the boot sound plays when powering on.

rds24a That's a great question. What happens if you power up the phone and then press the volume down key?

Pushing the volume buttons does nothing during the startup sound. This is really a problem when you're trying to turn your phone on while others are sleeping. On previous Droids, I could either turn the sound off before turning the phone off (and it would boot up silently) or put my thumb over the speaker if I forgot to turn it off. On this droid, however, the speaker is not effectively covered and the boot sound plays no matter what the sound settings are. It is a pretty common complaint across various discussion boards.

So you Tried Doc's solution and it didn't work, what I done on my Maxx and it should be near the same as to what Doc done is I pressed the power button it brings up: Power Off followed by Airplane Mode followed by the choices of sound or No sound for the Device choose speaker with the slash through it.. Once you do that Tap power off then click the ok to complete the power Down, then re-power up your Turbo by holding the power button and it should restart as my Droid Maxx just Did it may Vibrate but the Boot up sound was silenced..
StreetDocRN is you Turbo still doing ok.. b

Basically you are turning off all volume. Then when it turns on again you won't here a sound till you raise the volume.

This only works if you turn off the phone yourself. My Droid Turbo reboots several times a week, and every time that happens, it plays the boot-up sound/jingle/tune. How do I find some preference or setting somewhere to have it be silent with every reboot?

I was going to suggest doing the Following from the Link I added below to see if Silence Mode would silence the power up but on my Droid Maxx it does not the start up Droid is still present so I'm not really sure there is an option to silence it.
The First Link is for the ( Ultra Droid Maxx and Mini) the Second Link is for the Droid Turbo. the instructions for the two style of phones are the same.. as far as I could tell

I just *finally* got the Verizon 21.44.8_Quark... Update and when my Turbo Droid rebooted she was muted and that sound was silenced.
Perhaps this issue may be fixed!? I am going to restart her again with a few different volume combinations to be sure. If I do not report back otherwise, please presume this is now a non issue.

Update: Ah, the sound of silence.
*MUST Mute volume prior to shutdown.
- Volume buttons have no effect if phone was not previously muted.
- Startup/Shutdown vibration remains (Behavior consistent with my previous Droid2 & Droid4).

Agreed with AdMan and B33: This issue seems to be solved in the latest software update pushed out over the past couple of days. Behavior is now consistent with previous droid where the volume on/off preference at the previous shutdown is honored by the boot sound at startup.

All Moto's are pretty close to having the same features, I just tried the shut Down and my Maxx replicated the above it Vibrated on power up with NO sound which I'll admit is a Nice change b
