How do I change the keyboard to silent?

when typing a new text or new email i would like to make the keyboard silent ( no sound when hitting letters or numbers ) in the Sound  settings..  dial pad touch tones or touch sounds does not make the keyboard silent when they are turned off. How do I accomplish this?

Did you check the settings within the keyboard?

Yes in Language & Input Setting there is a section called keyboard & input methods. I found it  turned off         " sound on keypress "
