I've just upgraded mine and my daughers phones and wanted to sell our Motorola Droid Turbos. I tried to do a factory reset on both of them and both phones locked up. Wondering if I am doing it wrong or if there is any issues doing this?

I had NOT tried this. I tried to do it from the settings menu when the phone was powered on. This did work. Thanks for the help!!
