When I wanted to send a text message at 3:00am but not have my friend receive it until 6:00am I had no idea how to do it. So how do I?

If you use Verizon Messages, it lets you schedule when you want a text to send.
From the main window, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and then click "scheduled messages" and follow the instructions.
