Ever since the update to Android 5.0 I have had connectivity issues and the phone runs slower. Is there any way to restore my phone back to 4.4?
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
Nope. You can try a system cache clear that might help you. What kind of connectivity issues? Wifi or cellular?

I have since cleared cache and it's with WiFi that the problem occurs even
after clearing cache. I have concluded that it's a scheme to push us
customers into buying new phones. This just me holding out to the bitter
end. Thanks.
Which Moto X model do you have? Which wifi frequency are you connecting to? Have you checked the router to see if there is a firmware update? Do you use ipv6 or ipv4 addresses with the router? Some phones seem to have more trouble with the 5 GHz frequency or the ipv6 addresses.

Moto X is 1st Gen. Router is up to date & ipv4. The phone worked flawlessly
until I upgrade to 5.0. Immediately the problems was there. I contacted
Google about what they would do to fix. Still waiting for an answer. Thanks
though for your interest helping me solve this. I believe it's the OS.
Unfortunately no way to restore back to KitKat. You may be SOL & possibly have to start looking for a new phone.
The 2013 Droid Maxx still runs KitKat 4.4.4 & will NEVER be updated. (That's good news IMO) You may still be able to find a fairly new or gently used one on E-bay. Just bought a new 32 gb model on E-bay for $165.00 earlier this year. New or gently used 16 gb models run around $100.00

I have used the Moto X 2013 on Lollipop and I didn't have issues with it.
