A few days ago, my Motorloa Razr M received the KitKat Update. However, the update did not go well. Part way through it gave me a message something like "Your data partitions are corrupted. If you do not reset them your phone will be unstable." The only option it gave me was "I'm feeling lucky". I wasn't but as that was the only option, I took it. Since the update, my phone has ceased to work properly. The alert for a text message keeps sounding until I read the message and many on my applications refuse to run.
Is there a way to uninstall Kitkat and reinstall it? I know nothing about setting up data partitions on a phone, what should I do about that? Can I put the phone back to the way it was when I bought it (From Verizon)?

You could reboot into recovery and select the .zip file for KitKat to run it again.

I cannot get it to go into recovery mode. I get as far as seeing the sick droid lying on its back, but then the phone locks up.

Hi Cold_Comfort! I want to ensure your Droid Razr M by Motorola receives the software update successfully.
Let's try wiping the cache partition of the device http://vz.to/1hsOBEY, then attempt the software update again http://vz.to/1hsOJ7u. Keep me posted!

I was able to clear the cash, but it says my operating system is up to date and does not give me an option to down load a new one.

Thank you for checking, Cold_Comfort! Lets go to Apps > Settings > About Phone > System Version. What is the current version installed on the device?
Thank you,

Version 182.46.10.XT907.Verizon.en.US. When it first installed, it claimed it had installed correctly, but that was after the error message about the data partition and I have been having problems with the phone ever since.

Thank you for checking! We may need to completely reset the device. Are your contacts backed up to google.com/contacts ? How about your pictures? They should be on the SD card.
Here is how to reset the device: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/63967/
Once complete, check to see if there is a software available to update.
Thank you,

I'd like to know how to get the update in the first place. Tried manually, says device is up to date. I have a Razr Maxx with 4.1.2, how is there no update?

Hi Cold_Comfort!
I want you to get the update you're looking for! Let's try some troubleshooting. Please go to applications manager in settings, scroll to ALL, scroll down to System Updates and clear data. Reboot & check for updates.
Keep me posted on the results, thanks!

I have done the reset, and have been trying to get things back to normal.
I do not see anything call Applications Manager under Settings. The closest thing I can find is Apps under Device in Settings and it does not have an All or System Updates. Can you be more specific as to how I can find the Application Manager?

I found a "System Updates" under About Phone under System. When I select it, I get a message that says my phone is up to date. There is no Clear option.

@Cold_Comfort,
I apologize for all the difficulties you have experience. If you have checked for software updates and it's showing your phone is up to date then there is currently no updates available for your phone at this time. Please keep in mind that software updates are pushed to your phone automatically. When new software is available they are pushed to all phone in stages.

Which Razr Maxx do you have? The original version isn't getting the update. The HD version however is getting the KitKit update.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
