If you read through the posts, very few of us Maxx/Razr owners do. We've also been checking religiously with the same results as you. Eventually (hopefully) the upgrade will roll out.....

What's your big hurry for it?

And yet another thread on impatience ..
"checking" several times a day is futile .. on all accounts it will be a "PUSH" to you, not a "PULL" - so you're just wearing out that button ... lol

Amen to that! I had the Droid X before Froyo and my phone was messed up and had to get a new one. Then came gingerbread and once again had to get a new phone. Don't get me wrong i love updates to the phone but just be careful what you wish for, because it can turn your phone into a very expensive paper weight.

If ICS causes my phone to become a paperweight then Verizon will be replacing it.

Why not the manufacturer should be if Verizon left their hands clean of testing it? Doesn't seem fair don't you think? No matter what happens people will never be happy on the extreme sides. Verizon would rather test it to reduce the damage overall if a bad update happens over letting the manufacturer throw it out there and then getting blamed for something they didn't do.

Nu, go to YouTube and do a search for ICS for droid razr and it razr max. The os is suppose to be an awesome upgrade. I've played with ICS on a galaxy nexus and it was awesome. Plus there are some apps that won't run on android 2.3.

That is fine and dandy, and I am sure it is worth the trouble to upgrade, but I am just asking what your hurry was? Is there major things wrong with the phone now? Does it not do things that it should? Besides, if you are going to look forward to an OS release, then you need to be worried about Jelly Bean, you can even watch the video's from Google, "This is THE OS to have.." They even said ICS was on ok OS, but nothing like JB.

was just on Moto's website and saw that ICS is still in testing. It says "Phased rollout to select users now underway as part of standard upgrade process." https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c What does "select users" mean? Is that the soak group?
Does anyone know how to become part of the "soak group"?

I know how to i just didn't want to. Soak test can go good or bad so i chose not to deal with it. The soak test can take days even weeks so keep checking your update but don't expect anything until Motorizon make it official for everyone, not just the soak testers.

Ok, how do you become part of soak test? I've been searching around for months and I can't seem to find an answer.

The SOAK test/group has already been selected ... too late for THIS round .. But basically you have to "APPLY" to be part of that group over at the MOTO Support Site. And then a list of "rules" that you must adhere to *IF* selected.

I left my phone at home and went for a walk. I came back and there was a notice on my phone that stated in the next week your phone will be upgraded to ICS. It gave me a site to go to that gives details on the upgrade.

Sadly, I've seen a couple of Tweets from the VZW Support Twitter account stating that it may be 3 or 4 weeks before for all Razr and Razr Maxx owners receive the update. I'm sure I'll be at the end of that list,... story of my life.
I understand that Verizon needs to pace the rollout of this but what better set of users than the hard core android fanatics that are griping about not having it yet. We are exactly the type of users that can put it through it's paces before pushing the update to the general public. Most Android users would have to do some serious digging to find the "System Updates" area in the settings that we've all been checking multiple times a day looking for our ICS fix. We're also the same types of Android users that others look to when searching out what phones to purchase.
Verizon, please make it easier for users whom want the latest updates to get them early in the process. Lots of users are content with what they have and don't know or aren't as in tune with updates; but those of us here are serious mobile users that would be much happier customers, ready to tell others about how great the Android phones are through Verizon.

You may do much better by doing what a lot of my friends and associates have done, and I am thinking of doing despite the VW release of ICS (I am a senior computer consultant, so I tend to hang around with geeky and techy people). >Post edited to comply with VZW ToS. Discussions concerning hacking/rooting/jailbreaking is not permitted on this forum< (there is a persistent problem with many RAZRs going into uncontrolled reboot cycles that can make the phone unusable for anything from minutes to hours - I know of one case where a RAZR was totally powered down - turned completely off - and sometime during the night suddenly turned itself on, said "DROID" a few times, and began a reboot loop). You can't take out the battery (or at least not without serious technical chops) like you can with the Bionic, so at one level, ALL RAZRS CAN BE MADE TRACKABLE BY VERIZON 24/7. You can not totally disable them by taking out the battery.

ICS has rolled out to me. Not a soak tester.
