Is my device dialing people randomly?

I have been contacted by four different people claiming that my phone had called them, but when I check my call log I don't see any outgoing calls listed to their numbers. And on top of that, all four people have 419-366 numbers, the same as mine. They aren't asking for anything, so if it's a scam it's an odd one. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Being able to see how the call were made is something to look into, Shandragon. Let me help you to confirm if the calls were made from your line. Have you checked online to view your call history? To check, Please follow the instructions below:

1. Sign in to My Verizon.
2. Locate the I Want To... section.
3. Under the BILL column click View Usage. The My Current Usage page displays.
4. If appropriate, Select A Line to view usage for a different line.

Have a great day!

Most likely, your number is being "spoofed" - see this thread and my response there:

Two people called me and said they received a call from my number but I never called them,

Thank you! I have been looking for my online call logs everywhere and absolutely could not find them. And no, my phone did not dial any of the four numbers.

Oh, jeez. Yeah, that sounds about right. Is there anyway to prevent them from using my number?

Unfortunately, no.  "There oughta be a law...." but there's not and you learn to just ignore and move on....
