Could it be that you created your My Verizon account a bit too early and ended up with a guest account, which can't have anything linked to it? If you get a message saying something like "You'll get the full account owner experience when..." upon logging in, then you have a guest account and not an actual one. You would need to re-register for a completely new account using your Verizon phone number if it's a mobile line you have, or your User ID if it's home internet service or Fios.

Verizon: Considering how this is a common problem where someone signs up on My Verizon before their service is activated or before the system has registered a new customer - can't the guest account message at least be edited to say one needs to re-register when their service is up and running? If nothing can be linked to guest accounts for security purposes, that's understandable, but the message people get is misleading. Otherwise, one ought to be able to add their services when they become active? The current guest account message makes it sound that way.
