I am having some issues with my new Droid MAXX. At first, I would hear some distortion coming out of the main speaker, but it would go away after a few clicks or noises. Then, it got extremely worse and is now completely distorted! I don't normally use the phone speaker except for notifications and my phone ringer. I usually connect via a 3.5mm jack to my truck, so I know I haven't "blown out" the speaker.
The second issue: I pair the phone with a Bluetooth headset. I can receive calls, but cannot make any through my Bluetooth headset. I also cannot hear any sounds through the headset except for what comes in via phone call. I checked the Bluetooth settings to make sure that everything was set up right, and have confirmed that both Phone and Media audio icons are checked. I have also tried pairing and unpairing the phone and the headset multiple times, but it does not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure about your bluetooth problem, however the sound in the speaker sounds like a speaker issue, especially since it seems to be getting worse with time.
You can try a factory reset to see if that helps, but I'd recommend trying to use your warranty for a replacement.

n1c0LaSS,
That's weird. But nothing is too weird to get past us. First of all, is there any physical or liquid damage done to the phone itself? Also, did the issues with the speaker distortion and bluetooth start at the same time? We're on standby for you.

I had a similar problem with my main speaker. I looked all over the place for answers some time ago and finally bumped into a solution, albeit temporary. My particular problem is a broken wire, or weld on the board. If I squeeze the phone in the area of the speaker and the front glass, the speaker will work normal for a while. It is not dependable for a ringer however, due to the fact at any time, especially with a loud ringtone, it will stop working again. Hopefully it can help you.

If the Droid Maxx's board structure is made as it's predecessor the Razr Maxx the phone I currently have then the speaker is not wired to the Board there are 2 Brass contacts on the speaker that come in contact with 2 small brass nickle covered post as the phone is pressed together.. I show an old photo if i can find it. b33
