Issues with maintaining WiFi Connection

My phone is indicating that is using WiFi but it is showing up with Verizon (My Verizon Connection) that I'm using data.  I have called tech support.  They sent me to the store.  We set everything to WiFi only.  If I turn on my wifi, my phone will not do anything but text messages and phone calls.  I'm very frustrated.  I've never had this problem with data.  I've averaged 3 maybe 4 GB of data for almost 10 years.  I just switched to the More Everything Plan and upgraded to the Droid Turbo.  My data has sky rocketed to 16 GB in 3 weeks.  There is no way.  I was unaware until two days ago.  HELP!!!!

I'm sorry you're having issues with data TG520. I know its upsetting to have such a big different in usage. Have you also turned off your notification for application updates, software updated etc.?

I ended up requesting a replacement phone.  It seems to be doing a little better but I'm still having issues.  I have changed all my updates to only happen with Wifi Only.  I also started turning my data usage off at home in order to force my connections/updates to only use Wifi.  It is rather frustrating.  I love everything else about the phone.  The battery life is great.  The apps and features on the phone work perfect.  I've read that an update could fix the weak wifi issue.  I hope this true.  I don't like the iphones.  I'm not crazy about the galaxy either.  I've been reading about the issue on other sites as well.
