I am having a similar issue. My Moto Z2 Force will randomly shut off. I can't power it back on without resetting the phone (press the power and volume buttons and hold until it restarts). The power button alone does nothing. It is definitely not that it doesn't have a charge as when I power it back on there is 75% or more power left most times. Please help with this issue. It's hard to hear a phone ring or get a text when the phone is off and you have no idea it is off. I have been having this issue for over a week and have had to reset the phone multiple times.

I rely on my phone to work well at all times and definitely want you to be able to rely on your phone, carmstrong42. Let's take a closer look into what's going on. Has there been any damage to the phone? Are you using the charger that came with the phone? Do you have a memory card in the device?

I don't believe there had been any damage when this started, however just a
couple of days ago I noticed that the glass cover I have on my screen has a
crack in the bottom right corner.
As far as charger, no, I am not using the charger that came with the phone
(to be honest, I'm not sure which charger and cord came with the phone as I
have had it for over a year). I put it on a wireless charger at night
since I have the Kate Spade extra battery pack attached to the phone. I
have not had any issues with this and even disconnected the extra battery
when this happened the first time to see if that was affecting it in any
way. It did not seem to be a factor since it still didn't turn on with just
the power button.
Yes, I do have an SD card installed on the phone.
Thank you for responding and helping me with this issue.

I'm sorry that we haven't responded, Carmstrong42. I know a solution is urgent at this point.
It would be best to run a Health Check on the phone, from the My Verizon app. If you open the app, you can select Menu, (3-lines upper left), select Devices > select Manage under your device > scroll down to Run Health Check. Please let me know what the results are for the Battery.

It says there is plenty of battery. The only ! was next to location, that
the location services are turned on.
This is not a problem of the phone running out of battery. It simply shuts
off. When I do get it back on, there is still plenty of battery and it has
not been plugged in.

Greetings. My Moto Z2 Force shuts off at about 73% battery power. Plugging it in to a charger allows me to turn it back on (that's whow I know the battery power) and I can charge the internal and mod battery tp 100% each, and everything is OK until the power drops again to 73% a dgain. I have ensured it has the latesst software updates (Android 9) and have gone through the troubleshooting guide that has been provided herein (in Safe Mode) without finding any problems.
Any ideas what I shouold do next?

Thanks for all of your efforts ce3000comp. Is the phone warm to the touch at all, either when being used, or when charging? Is there any physical or liquid damage to the phone?

I have been having the same problem with my Moto z2 force. It started turning off randomly at 40% about a month ago and now it will do it at 100%. Whenever I try to use an app it will shut down and I have to restart it. It will only stay on reliably when it's plugged in. I have run the health check and no issues other than location services. I had to do a factory reset on it and lost all my photos and saved data. Has there been a fix found for this yet?

Karld1989,
It is never good to hear your device is shutting off randomly. Let's work together to get to the bottom of this. When did it start? What software version is the phone currently running? Here is a link with the steps to check. http://spr.ly/6601EwkQV

I have the same exact problem.
I am still paying the phone off and don't want to pay for a refurbished phone on top of my monthly payments.
I spoke with a tech already.
We cleared cache, uninstalled apps, ran diagnostics - I am trying a battery re'calibration as I type.
Is this a reoccuring issue with Z2 Force?
All my software is up to date as well.
My phone constantly shuts off on its own. It can have any amount of charge to it and it will still shut off as soon as I use an app or make a phone call or text. It's only reliable when it's on a charger.
I use the charger I received when purchasing the phone and I've gone to verizon and bought two wall chargers and a car charger from them to make sure it wasn't a charger issue and so I always have a charger to keep my phone running when I need it.
I've already spent too much.
Is there any known fixes to this yet?

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your phone shutting off. Device concerns are not what we want for you. Our goal is to help you move forward. I understand you've worked with tech support.
