Any updates on when? I sure don't want just the 16GB version and I really want to customize it. That's one of the big draws for the Moto X - extreme personalization. The longer they take to get MotoMaker available to Verizon customers the more sales they will lose. Samsung and HTC are not sitting on their hands. Sony is doing some interesting things with the Xperia line. Is this exclusivity with AT&T some kind of deal like AT&T has/had with Nokia? Let me tell you -- in 6 months I'm over the Moto X. It's already not a true flagship device. In 6 months if will be pretty mediocre compared to the competition.

I reached out to Guy Kawasaki, current advisor/evangelist for Google and their Motorola division, to ask if he had any details he could share. I was almost surprised he answered me, and so quickly. He's a busy guy (no pun intended) these days as an author, published, and entrepreneur. Unfortunately he had no details and it sounds like not even Motorola has made a final decision on when MotoMaker will be open to Verizon customers. I follow him on Twitter as he is a generally fascinating person, very upbeat, and he was also the chief evangelist for Apple back in the bad old days. I had hoped he'd tweet something hopeful for us Verizon folks. Perhaps when a decision is reached Guy will tweet it out.

Thanks to EVLeaks, we have a date (although not officially confirmed): November 11th. Current owners of the Moto X are still waiting for the firmware update that boosts the incredibly poor camera's performance, but by November 11th this should all be sorted.

Its not related. I never said it was. What I'm hoping is that by the time Verizon has the MotoMaker option they will have had sufficient time to get the firmware update out as well. They have nearly a full month now.
