I see this is a heated topic in the Samsung forums.
A family member has a Droid Mini, and we are trying to find out how he will be affected. A member in the Samsung forums stated that some phones, rather than having their 10 bit week field syncronized with the rest of the world, decided to have 0 be a date in February, 2000. That 1024 week rollover that happened for actual GPS in April will happen on the phones recently listed by Verizon (like some Samsungs, some Droids, and others) on Nov. 3, 2019.
The forum member says texting, calling, and GPS will still work, but calendar & reminders will be a mess.
Any ideas where the truth lies?
Edited to add. Verizon states that GPS accuracy will be impacted. http://spr.ly/66051HdVU
