Razr Maxx texting problems

Does anyone have a fix for the text sending problems that we were given as part of the Jelly Bean update?  I'm so tired of trying to send very important work or family related text only to be left with the green arrow where I should be getting a sent message or send failed message.  Sometimes the messages with a green arrow go through, sometimes they don't.  I am forced to resend the message to ensure that the person receives it which only adds to frustration in an already fast paced work environment. 

Evidently we are supposed to just live with this problem.  I fail to understand why our modern phones can't handle something as simple as a text message properly.
