I ran into a situation last night where I went to turn my phone off and when I went to turn it back on it locked up. Called Tech support and they told me since it does not have a battery, I would have to return it to the Verizon store or mail it back and they would send me a new phone. Just a FYI and this happens to you. I googled it and this is what you do below. You do not need to return you phone. It worked perfectly and i was up and running again in minutes!!!
Since the DROID RAZR doesnโt have a removable battery, you may be wondering what you are supposed to do if the phone were to lock up. No chance for a battery pull, right? Thankfully, you can apply the same trick we do on the Motorola XOOM, a device that also does not have a removable battery. In fact this morning, I had to utilize that same trick since my RAZRโs touch screen refused to react every time I touched it. It wasnโt frozen โ the soft keys all worked, I just couldnโt make anything happen by pressing the screen. And without the ability to touch your screen, you canโt hold power and then tell the phone to โTurn Off.โ
So what do you do? Itโs simple.
Press and hold Volume Down + Power for 10-15 seconds and your phone should power all the way off. Then, power it back on as you normally would and get back to reading Droid Life.

I will have to try that if mine freezes up again. It did the other night for about 5 minutes and tech support was stumped. Finally the phone just unfroze and worked. I will try that if it happens again

Thank you so much for this tip! I just got the RAZR Monday night and it froze up on me this morning. Pressing Power and the Volume down button worked perfectly!

Glad you found that info.
Too bad tech support didn't know it as it's on page 57 of the RAZRs Manual.

Had my Razr since March of this year. Never had a problem with it until last night. Went to power it on, and it froze on the final electricity looking ball thingee screen. Figured out this fix on my own that you speak about however, when I do it, it just resets to this same point and freezes once again. ARGGGG! Looks like I'm headed to Verizon store today for some help?

Hope you have everything backed up because if all else fails you may have to do a factory reset via external buttons. See:
If a factory reset does not solve the problem, then you should be eligible for a replacement phone (reconditioned) since your RAZR is less than a year old.
