Text messages not sending

I have read several discussions about text messages not sending and I followed all the recommendations before I posted.  I did the hard reset which was a total waste of time.  Most of my text messages still have the green arrow stating sending, some were received and some were not.  Has ANYONE found a solution to this problem.

95% of my communication is done via text, nique. I want to make sure we get your services working again.

Thanks for already doing some steps that we would have you do.

Are you having a problem with standard (SMS) and picture (MMS) messages? 

Do you use any type of 3rd party texts apps that were installed from the Play Store.

We want to make sure there is the most recent software version on the Maxx. Go to Settings>About Phone>System Version.

The problem is with both messages. Some go through even though the green arrow states sending and some never go through at all. I have to tell people to text me to let me know they received the text which is embarrassing when it's a business contact. I don't have any 3rd party text apps on my phone.  System version is98.72.16.xt912.verizon.en.us

My Droid Razar MAXX stopped sending texts as well today.  Phone calls go directly to voice mail, but I can make a phone call from my phone.  I am unaware that an update went through but since the last update I have had all types of issues--I did not do a factory reset after the update.  I am in the process of trying to clear the cache and restart.  Is this a system wide issue with Droid Razrs that the texts are not working.

I am having the same problem now. It just started. There is a long delay before it is sent and the person that receives the message says there are multiple messages. I have no clue what could be wrong. If I find out I shall let you know and please do the same for me

I am having the same issue also while on wifi I get the "message not sent" notification.

Let's get your messages working again too!  Which model Droid Razr Maxx are you using, the original or the HD version?  What is your device current software version http://vz.to/10l8fmT?  Are you having problems with texts and/or pictures over WiFi?  Problems sending, receiving or both?  Let me know so I can further assist.  Thanks!

I have the same issue.  NEVER was an issue before the last "Update".  Thanks for that!  I only use Verizon Texting, no 3rd party.  Phone is a Driod Razor Max.  With the last update, that was pushed out, text messaging has been messed up.  Here is what happens:

  1. Sent 5 Text Messages:
  2. Two will show sent with time stamp.
  3. Three will show GREEN Arrow (appearing NOT sent).
  4. End user gets 4 Text messages.  Which one was not delivered?  Donโ€™t know?  We donโ€™t either! 

Why do some show a green arrow for a text that was actually sent?? Others show it and have never been sent. Ohโ€ฆ and some just sent duplicates.  Makes me want to scream and throw my phone out the window! 

Weโ€™re going on MONTHS with this issue and thousands of customers have it.  WHY ARENโ€™T YOU FIXING IT?  I will propose a class action lawsuit soon.  Bottom line, we shouldnโ€™t play for these services that are faulty.  For every month it goes on, that is $10 per month, per customer, that you will owe us.  Got it?  Attorneys love going after the big guys and doing it for free.  Bet we can have the LAWSUIT FILED before you fix the phones!

I can understand exactly how you are feeling.
We have heard you all and the findings have been reported to the software development team.
A fix for the issue is under review and will be included in the next Software Update  for this device. The tentative release date is under review. Once we get additional details, they will be released via http://bit.ly/n5snpq.

CHecking to see if this is the same problem I have... My daughter can not txt my Verizon droid from her Verizon Maxx. She can txt in her groups but not to specific numbers and they can not txt her number but txts show up under her groups. Been to Verizon store, tried changing parental controls etc,, gone to Myverizon.com, got a new phone, but no fix. it's been going on for 4 weeks at least. Any suggestion on what to try next?

This is definitely a peculiar situation. And one that we certainly have suggestions to remedy. At this point, it definitely doesn't sound like a network issue but rather a device problem. May I ask if she uses a third party messaging app? If so, please have her remove it and use the stock app to test. Then if problems were to persist, I would recommend enabling safe mode to disable all third party apps since this issue has spanned between two phones http://vz.to/rxg0ii . Please share results.

I have been having the same problems sending/receiving texts.  They replaced the sim card, I have done a hard reset and they even sent me a replacement phone which is doing the same thing.  Surely hope they don't charge me for a phone ever since this seems to be a problem with the last update.

Would love to be able to undo the last update and get my phone back like it was...I do NOT like the last two updates.  Any other suggestions out there?

Hello! I just wanted to jump in and say i'm having the same problem. Last night I decided to update my phone (a Droid 4) and some apps, and doing so seemed to break my phone's ability to send texts. It was fine until those updates. I have done the factory restore twice and it still won't send texts. :[ I can receive them perfectly fine, but to respond i've been having to use my brother's HTC Rhyme.

Ouch that's No fun have you tried doing a System Cache Clear.. you might give that a shot & Make sure all your Apps are up to Date..

Thanks for the tip about the system cache clear! I'll give it a try. I haven't installed any apps since I did the factory restore. Would I need to update anything specific that comes standard with the phone? It says everything is up to date from what I can see.

Hey there you Go   that's Great it's back to Working if you need any more help just give me a Holler here on the Forum or you can send me a Direct Message it's like an Email!  Take your Mouse pointer put it on my Avitar or Mr Kool Aid a box will appear you'll then need to Check Follow and then in Actions the Red Box with a Check Check Allow that way you can send a Direct Message if you want to..  Have a Good Weekend and Welcome to the Forum b
