Turbo 2 - Black screen when accessing Phone Settings

I've had this happen multiple times now where when pulling down the notification bar and choosing the settings cog icon results in a black screen where only the top notification bar and lower 3 navigation icons appears.  Even after waiting a bit, pressing the back icon or trying to access the settings by choosing the cog icon again still does nothing until I turn off the display and unlock the phone again.  The last time this happened, even that did not work and I had to completely reboot.

I've had this phone for a week so the good news is I should be able to factory reset it without too much loss of time invested.
