Hi,
In the last 2 weeks I have noticed that my phone has stopped ringing when I get calls and the hands free driving feature isn't reading texts or stating when I have a call. When a call does come in the phone vibrats but doesn't ring.
When I resart my phone it works for a time then stops again. I have a ringtone set, the phone isn't on silent. My phone isn't set to not interrupt me (sleeping or in a meeting). Its happening on all calls.

sfji, we appreciate your feedback. Although you all may not be in the same zip code, we do like to follow through with our necessary troubleshooting steps. We can can tell this is frustrating, but any cooperation we can get from everyone in order to provide necessary details to the software team and manufacturer will help us get the resolution we need. Are you saying Play Store updates are not installing? If so, do you get an error? -Tamara

VERY frustrating. My zip is 48085. I presume you will ask everyone else their zip code in order to reach a solution, correct? To answer some other questions asked of others on this thread: it did not matter if the phone was inside a building, outside in the open, in a car, etc. - the phone did not ring. It did not matter if the call was someone in-network, out-of network, calling from a landline, in my phone book or not in my phone book - the phone would not ring.
Currently, as I mentioned the new phone rings so far, but updates to apps via the Play Store (any/every app including Google apps, Motorola apps, and Verizon apps) either freeze or take a ridiculously long time to load. It took over an hour to update Google Play services and over 15 min to update My Verizon Mobile. The system update has attempted to run three times and stalls at around 19% for an hour before I cancel it; the countdown on the update continually increases to over 300 min remaining in the download.

I too am having problems with my Droid Turbo not ringing.
All call go straight to voice mail.
I got the phone the day it was launched. When the first OTA update came through the next day, I lost all ringing and notifications for texts. I took it into the VZW store and the only way they could fix it was to wipe the phone and do a factory data reset. this fixed the problem until the next OTA update was pushed, and once again I lost all ringing and text alerts. Again, I had to "factory reset" the phone, and then it worked again.
Now within the last week, I have again, lost incoming call ringing, but I do have text alerts working. In fact, my phone does not even show a missed call, but that I have a new voice mail...
I should not have to do an other complete phone reset again...!!!
I have followed every step in this forum to try to fix the problem, but all have failed... I have tried other options I found on line, but all have failed... Upon my internet research, I have found this a common problem with the Droid Turbo, and it basically comes down to needing a software update from VZW/Moto...
And since I know you will ask, for no good reason, my zip code is 53058
I also live about 200 yards from a Verizon 4g tower, and am getting full signal.

ShanDroyd, we don't want this to be an ongoing issue for you. You're located in a great coverage area. Do you miss calls while located inside, outside, or every where you go on your device? Have you powered your device off/on to soft reset it?

My phone is doing the same thing. I've spoken to Verizon support and they are unsure what is wrong as well. I love the phone but if I can't get calls it makes the phone a bit pointless. Helppp

Typical scripted response from a customer service rep. I used to sell and manage stores for: Verizon, AT&T, T -Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular. I have an advanced degree "I.T." and technology. I know what I'm doing. This is a software problem. Motorola's are famous for software problems. I should have never left my Samsung.
I am NOT an idiot, I know more about technology especially cell phones and mobile devices, than any representative working for Verizon. I have tried every possible solution.
IT IS A SOFTWARE FLAW!

I received a replacement Turbo last Wednesday and just this afternoon it stopped ringing again. It worked at 830am; it did not work at 530pm. This phone is useless and clearly has systemic problems.

sfji,
Yikes! So sorry to hear that your replacement device is having the same issue! Do you recall making any changes today to the device such as installing a new app? When they replaced your device did they also replace the SIM card?

No activity on my phone other than charging it and making one call between this morning and when it stopped working. No app download. I did not get a new Sim card when I got the replacement phone. Also, the Play Store is still not functioning properly; this worked on my first Turbo.

I was able to get two people to call me back and the phone rang. Nobody else out of maybe 20 incoming calls today. if they don't leave a message...i don't know they called.
The replacement phone they are sending...I'm supposed to replace the sim card with the one from my existing phone.
Sure would like to get this taken care of. It's my only phone (no land line) and it's becoming a PITA.

I went back to the Verizon store yesterday (for the third time) and they gave me a new SIM card and turned on HD Voice; the phone is working again... for now. If I turn off HD voice the phone stops ringing; however my spouse does not have this feature on and his works just fine. The Verizon employee thought it was the SIM card since the Play Store was not working properly and my data conneciton was slow. They said that HD Voice is new so no one really knows how this feature affects phones. Hopefully this fixes it for me once and for all. I hope this information can help others....

Is there a reason Verizon and Motorola do not acknowledge this problem? It clearly is widespread and happening across the board. My phone stopped ringing and would not come back regardless of the "fixes" I tried that are listed here.
The phone is great but useless if it does not ring. Verizon just let us know there is a problem and when you expect to fix it.

sfji-my husband's works, as well. Mine doesn't. Did you get the same model? i.e. the same color? We didn't. I just wonder if it is a certain group of phones.

Might Try run a system cache clear or a F.D.R. try the cache clear first then if the issue persist then run the F.D.R. you many have some soft ware from the Old OS conflicting with the new.. try these steps to see if the issue goes away..

You are barking up the wrong tree. The interesting thing about this problem.....VERIZON and MOTOROLA know about it. Yep...know about it. You can tell us to turn this and that off and back on BUT its not going to help. Its not the operators(owners) it's VZW and MOTO. So maybe to help us...please let us know what is being done on y'alls end. Instead of asking us to switch this and that and so on. It isnt US....

I'm sorry you're having issue with your Turbo ringing. Does it occur for certain phone calls or while you're inside?
