Ever since the new firmware was sent to my device (24.31.22), the device defaults to USB for Charging Mode when I plug it in. I am unable to get it to back to default to USB for File Transfer. I even enabled Developer mode under Select USB Configuration and have it set to MTP, but is still defaults for USB for Charging.
Please help and fix.

You're going to have to convince Google to change it in the base Android OS code before the manufacturers change it on their older devices.
