Unlocking

I recently received a used Motorola Droid razr XT912 and i was not aware that it was manufactured by Verizon. I contacted my carrier (T-mobile) and i told them about the problem, They told me that i would have to get the phone unlocked by Verizon in order to use the phone. Is there any instructions that i would need to follow from verizon in order to unlock the phone.
