I have been a Verizon user for a long time. The last phone I bought from them was a Motorola G7 Power 2021. It was a poor choice as a phone when I had great success with previous Motorola G Power phones. I had not even had it a complete year and had a lot of issues I couldn't deal with like searching in Google searches always cutting me off midsentence and the search completely disappearing over and over. Taking me beyond several tries to just search for ONE thing. Camera was really laggy on opening and taking pictures. Just to name a few. I did a lot of research and decided I wanted to buy out the phone early and replace it with the new Motorola Edge Plus 2023. But of course Verizon doesn't offer it. I had to buy it outright from Motorola with Affirm payments. I researched a long time before getting another phone and I read so many BAD reviews of the phones that Verizon offered, not a lot of highly recommended phones. For what you pay for Verizon's service they should have a better selection of phones. Even higher end phones had a lot of issues. Deal breaker kind of issues. Anyway, I wish I hadn't had to buy this phone outright but I absolutely LOVE it. Such a relief over owning the previous phone and it's a great contender to the Samsung Ultra S23, which my gf just upgraded to and already has a crack in the screen and she hasn't dropped it or even taken it out of the house yet. And apparently it's a common problem already with the S23's. I hope they change their mind and offer the Edge Plus 2023 in the future. My dad is due for an upgrade and I think he would really like this phone. Do better Verizon.

Excellent question. I've been using Motorola phones from Verizon from the early days. I too was looking forward to the next release of the Edge plus. It's incredible that it is not offered by Verizon. What possibly could be the reason. Is it out of Verizon's hands and it is stymied by Motorola?

I feel the same way. I did the same exact thing that you did. I got my Edge+ 2023 through Amazon during the Prime Days event. It works as intended but Verizon didn't sell it. I have seen online that if a phone doesn't include the mmWave then Verizon will not sell it in their stores. This phone doesn't have mmWave so it's not sold in their stores. It's the same thing with Sony phones as well. They are compatible but no mmWave no sell through Verizon. I really wish Verizon would offer more phones and allow more phones onto their network. Say what you will about phones from companies like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Asus, etc. but those phones offer some unique features that phones Verizon does sell don't. Verizon really needs to allow these phone makers include Band 13.
This is just my opinion.

Hello radgatt. So, are you saying if you purchase the 2023 Moto edge plus, you cannot use the phone on the VZ network, and/or you cannot get the benefits of VZ, e.g., in store support, etc." Thanks
If the answer to the above is no/no, is the new Razr flip, recently released comparable to this Edge, in your opinion?

I completely agree. The last decent phone I had from Verizon was a 2020 Motorola G Power, but they unleashed that idiotic 5g, and I needed to change phones. I've tried a Pixel 7 and iPhone 15 which both are terrible phones. I was really excited to learn that the Motorola Edge Plus 2023 was out. Flagship Motorola with improved camera and more storage over the 2022. So stupid they don't offer it, or broke ties with Motorola, they're making a comeback and have dependable easy to use phones.
