I also have the Droid Turbo, and it is running Android 5.1, which is the most current OS released by Motorola. Contact Motorola for details on when Marshmallow will be released for the Turbo, as manufacturers, not carriers, write the updates.

But are you running the latest version of the OS for your specific phone? If it is slated for an update then you need to complain about it to the manufacturer of the device.

You may or may not get a response from a VZW rep in a day or two. They can only reply with a response that follows the company policy for updates.

Due to the sensitive situation of customer satisfaction pertaining to a carrier exclusive Flagship device I would prefer that a Verizon representative address my question

I guarantee you the answer you will get will be something along the lines of "We do not have any information about when an update will be available. Please check the Software Updates page or the Verizon News for anything new. In the mean I'll send you a private message to discuss your options." In other words, they will likely try and convince you to purchase the latest and newest phone available.

Crspyguy, we understand your concern with wanting to be updated in software. We all want our phones to operate to the maximum potential. Updates are unique to different manufacturers and specific models. When your phone has the latest software update available to it there is nothing that can be done to change that until the next update.
Are you having any issues with your phone? What is prompting this to be a concern for you?

crspyguy, I share your pain. Although some on here want to make excuses and make light of the problem, you are correct that the Turbo has been one neglected device. I have learned two lessons from the update fiasco with the Turbo. One is to never buy a carrier exclusive devices. If it is VZWs fault this is not updated it is because there just isn't enough of them out there for them to care. Two, never buy another Moto device. Their updates suck now. Lots of posts on Android news sites of their neglect in even giving us needed security updates, not to mention OS updates for a flagship device. Talk with your wallet.

Davidoo we are on the same page as for the rest I will not private message about any other device I want Verizon to honor their fiduciary commitment to a carrier exclusive Flagship device which is an implied contract that that said device will get special attention forthwith

With that said the only benefit to having a carrier exclusive Flagship device is to the carrier to ensure that all functions on said device will operate properly and not that that said device would receive special attention from the carrier and manufacturer which was implied at time of purchase this is definitely a very disappointing Revelation and a lesson well-learned thank you for your above response I appreciate it

I'm right there with you. I bought my Droid Turbo 64GB on 10/31/14 under the impression that this phone is among the elite smart phones to ever become available. This phone was over $700.00 the day I bought it... What's infuriating is that this phone was behind the times the day it was released (kit Kat)! After many promises of a speedy update, most of us were totally let down by being forced to wait almost a year before being updated to Android L... Most of us thought that after Verizon/Moto dropped the ball on that update, it may be possible that Verizon/Moto would try to make good and get us Android M. Ha!
Here we are again...a year later and Waiting for uncertainty...
I do enjoy this phone but the simple fact that it is and has always been left behind and neglected by Verizon/Moto is frustrating. The other thing is trying wring any kind of information about a possible update is impossible and unacceptable.
I feel bad because The Droid Turbo is a really good phone but was pretty much antiquated right from its initial release due to Verizon/Moto's typical ways and because of this, I'll never buy another Verizon/Droid or any Carrier based phone again.

Oh and another thing... My very first smart phone was a low end Droid RAZR M and it came out of the box with Ice Cream Sandwich... It then got Jelly Bean and I was amazed when it got KitKat.
It's pretty ridiculous that a low-end phone lines the RAZR M got TWO OS updates and The Mighty DROID Turbo only gets one. What a joke.

That is Motorola's failure not Verizon's.

It honestly is on both of them. Moto had no problem getting updates out to their other devices so they are more than capable of doing it. Now if the problem is only on Moto, then why didn't Verizon say to Moto
" Um, hey Moto... This is our flagship device and its a direct representation of our business practices. A lot of people have this thing and aren't too happy about not getting the updates that everyone else is getting. Let's work together and get this under control so that we don't look like we don't care about them."
...and then at least provide us some solid info on what is actually going on instead of spoon feeding us some regurgitated garbage.
Yes, I believe it's on both of them.

The information is already out there if you look for it yourself. Motorola dropped support for a number of devices. The pattern is there. I have seen it. Are you willing to see it?

That's kind of funny because I was just on Motorola's site and it shows The Droid Turbo listed as getting the Android M update pending partner support. So where is the hang up at?

There is more than one partner involved. The hardware components are also updated and need input from their manufacturers. See HTC Software Updates Process | HTC United States for an example of the process at another manufacturer. Motorola goes through the same process. Motorola adds one more step to the process as they issue a beta version to select device owners to real world feedback. Motorola has never issued the beta.

What's bothersome is that the global equivalent to the turbo is on 6.0.1 so the manufacturer code is done.
