I just spoke with a Motorola rep, and they said that it is waiting for the carrier support to update to Lollipop (5.0). What gives, why are you holding the update? Are you trying to make some other phone sell better, would it not make sense to update the flagship phone?

Call back and tell that rep stop lying...
Motorola developer said they are dropping 5.0 update for the Turbo and are working on giving 5.1 which was recently released by Google. Verizon isn't withholding anything they didn't receive.

They have had the update, Motorola gave it to them. Pending carrier suport means that the carrier has it but has not approved it, or has not pushed the approved the update out to phones. I would trust the manufacturer of the phone over the carrier.

Again no that did not happen and it's been verified by the same developer. A low level rep will NEVER know compared to the guy who leads the developer team for Motorola. Sorry not buying it.

like to give a heads up.
Visit the other forums where people are complaining about the 5.0.X updates on their devices. Google themselves said there are major problems and that it'll be fixed with 5.1.
Regardless of what you believe transpired... Don't you think it's a good thing Motorola delayed the updated to get your a more stable version? I am glad Motorola did that. My Moto X I downgraded because of these problems. I am waiting for 5.1 to come out for it before I even try again.

I can understand waiting for a stable 5.1, but other phones get the updates before the turbo which is supposed to be the flagship phone. flagship would indicate that it has the best hardware and OS. But they could at least give a status, an official statement that they are in fact going to release 5.1 and before fall or summer.

Motorola already given the official statement. They dropped 5.0 for 5.1 for a more stable release. They can't do that because things happen and people get sue happy over a soft date. There's plenty of examples, and Motorola has been on the end of a few of those.

I want the statement and status update from Verizon. I'm tired of hearing that we will get the update, or it will be updated soon. They could at least give some sort of timeline.

Verizon can't give you a timeline without having anything to test. Let's be realistic here. Until Motorola starts soak testing it means Verizon doesn't have anything from Motorola. If you want try and registering your device with Motorola and try and see if you are selected for soak testing. My coworker was chosen that's how I know some of the things I do. I also soak tested the Moto X update.

I'm opted in for the Motorola soak testing, but it would be nice to know if we will get an update sometime this year.

You will Motorola has been good overall when it comes to updating their devices.
Moto X got it very quickly on Verizon. The first gen is a special animal and Qualcomm has been slacking on delivering drivers for the custom processor. Wouldn't surprise me within 2 months at the most, but again with software things can happen.

Does your Turbo work and function OK? I know mine does. I will patiently wait for the update; a stable one. I suggest you do the same, because really...it's just an update for a smart phone that probably does everything you need it to do with Kit Kat anyway

No, it does not. That is why I would like to see the update before the winter solstice

It doesn't? What specifically about the phone doesn't work? Mine has been flawless. Other folks I know that have the Turbo have also been very pleased with it. So I'd be curious to know what specifically is not working well for you.

You sound skeptical. I understand, I'm skeptical whenever someone uses the term flawless.
Most of my issues are listed on this forum (I didn't scroll through all the pages, so I may missed one or two). One I did not notice is an email issue. Some messages, including those from this site won't open. No problem from my desk or laptop.
The most irritating is some apps make the phone go nuts Press the app drawer icon and it places a search bar on the screen. It will do this until the screen is full. Other icons will do all sorts of weird things. Sometimes I can restart and get into settings and uninstall. Other times I have to remove the battery. This may happen as soon as I install or after using for a week or more. Most are apps I used on my S4 with KK and the wife has on her S6..

"Sometimes I can restart and get into settings and uninstall. Other times I have to remove the battery"
Skeptical, no...i just like to understand. But now you have me confused.
I believe we're under the Droid Turbo thread, and in your response, you state other times you have to remove the battery. If we're talking about the same device, the Droid Turbo does not have a removable battery. When I made my statement about my device being flawless (yes, i realize that is a bold statement, but mine works great), I was referring to the Droid Turbo because that's the thread (and device) we're talking about here.
If we're talking the same device, I'd be more than happy to offer some suggestions on some things to try to correct your issues, but I have a feeling we're not since you mentioned pulling the battery.

It is the Turbo. I was having flashbacks to the LG my wife had on Sprint until recently. I have to restart or sometimes I can get back into Google play and uninstall from there. Weirdest thing I've encountered with a phone. Sometimes hitting the home button moves the screen down about halfway. Hit it again and it centers.

I understand how to remove an app via settings. The problem is after installing certain apps/widgets, I CANNOT access settings. Some apps make the phone go bat crap crazy. The command center widget that came pre-installed caused the problem until it was recently updated. Several of the problems apps/widgets I ran on my previous phone using KK. I rarely download apps/widgets as I never know when one will send my prone into a tailspin.
No, I'm not hitting the recent apps button. This is how my screen should look:
Versus this:
Other than that, it's high speed, low drag.

For some it functions perfectly (their words). For a lot of us it doesn't. Mine has dropped calls with AC turned on, no simultaneous voice and data when I have to turn AC off; calls that goes directly to voice-mail without any notification or ringing ; WiFi reception worse than my previous device.... Just to point out a few.
