Can you please explain why I can no longer access my SD Card when I plug my
phone into my PC...?
Ever Since Kit Kat 4.4.2 the SD card is not showing up in Windows
Explorer...
How can I access the data that is on that card...?
Thanks,
Klipster

Klipster,
Go into your settings & ensure USB Mass Storage is enabled.

SoccerRef12 <https://community.verizonwireless.com/people/SoccerRef12>,
Looking under storage, the SD Card does appear there... It shows 29.6 GB
with 23.77 GB available...
I don't see any options to enable/disable the SD Card...
There are options to Unmount SD card, Erase SD card, and a Greyed Out
option to Mount an USB Disk...
I can see the SD card in settings.
The problem is I no longer can see/access the SD Card in Windows Explorer
when attached via USB to my PC...
Thanks.

SoccerRef12 <https://community.verizonwireless.com/people/SoccerRef12>,
I just found something under USB Connection hidden behind the elipse(...)
at the top of the screen...
USB computer connection has an option:
Media Device (MTP)
Lets you transfer media files on
Windows, or using Android File Transfer
on Mac (see www.android.com/filetransfer)...
After plugging my phone into the PC and turning on this sqitch I am now
prompted to:
"Install Motorola Device Manager"
There is an additional setting that appears when you click on Media device
(MTP) that allows you to toggle on/off the software installation prompt on
your PC...
The other important note is that there is another option on this screen
that says:
Camera(PTP)
Lets you transfer photos using camera software, and transfer any files on
computers that don't support MTP.
Important to note that MTP and PTP are mutually exclusive and cannot be
both on at the same time...
It's one or the other...
I'll try the MTP option and see if the SD card reemerges...!
Thanks...

I can't run MotorolaDeviceManagerSetup from this PC so I'll have to try it
from home later...
Will let you know...
Seems cumbersome to have to install software to access the SD card when
that was never necessary before...
Perhaps I'm headed down a rabbit hole...?!
Thanks.

Okay, so, turning off the software install prompt while connected via USB
caused the PC to load the necessary drivers and voilร , the SD card now
appears in IE...!
Subtle little change...
Thanks...
