My Droid MAXX won't initiate the video camera. When I tap the the camcorder button, the device pops up the message "Unable to capture video." Just got the phone about a month ago. Anyone else having this problem?

F-Gardner,
Thanks for the update! What other steps were taken with the tech support representative? I just want to be sure we aren't repeating the same steps. Have you completed a master reset of your device or tried running it in safe mode to see if it helps? http://vz.to/Lpsd0e

Thanks for taking the time to follow up, beefiestew. Does this occur while in other applications outside the preinstalled camera app?

Yes. I didn't have any other video capturing applications so I downloaded Google camera and it would not record either.

I tried in safe mode. No change. I'm not aware of any software updates.

I took these same steps with a tech via live chat. After restarting my phone I was able to capture one video. On second attempt I continued to have the same problem.

I tried taking video in safe mode with the same result. I did the dreaded master reset and that resolved the problem along with a few other issues I had. Thanks!

I was able to fix it by turning off handsfree voice in Google now.
