Why can't I recieve e-mails on my Razr M?

wondering why my phone is no longer receiving emails.   tried syncing.  tried powering down.  haven't changed any settings.  when I try to restart by typing in my password, the phone says 'System is unavailable'  I have internet access but no updated email.  help

cleared the cache and data, re-entered the same account and i'm back up:)
