While on vacation, the phone would just power off for no reason. Would not turn back on, as it thought the battery was dead. I also attempted the reboot (Power button & Down button), but the phone did not recognize any battery available. After about 10 seconds of having the charger on, it would show battery life from about where it was when phone shut down. There was even a time when the phone shut down while just sitting on the night-stand. The first time it happened, I was in the middle of taking pictures. No new APP had been installed recently.

That is definitely odd! May we ask where you on vacation in? Was it here within the United States or Internationally?

I have the same issue...happens to me all the time...in fact it just happened now. Battery was at 26% and the phone shut off. Put the phone on the charger and it turned right back on. I have has this happen for months now and I haven't even traveled anywhere besides my office and home. I pretty much have to charge my phone continuously. I can usually only go about two or three hours with out putting the phone on the charger. As a side note, I use a wireless charger as the USB charger is hot and miss...the phone eats cords...lol!

MICGAL40,
I'm concerned to hear that you are experiencing issues with your phone dying before the battery has fully discharged. Let's figure out what's causing this, so you don't have to charge your phone so frequently.
Please follow the steps at the link below to complete a Device Health Check. This will tell us what the health of your battery is. Share results, so we can continue to assist:

I am on a replacement phone. My 1st turbo lasted 3 years. Towards the end of that phones life it would power off with 45% or less showing on the indicator. I've had the replacement for a year now and it is doing the same thing. I like these phones because they are durable and allow me to do the things I need, but this battery issue is frustrating. I've asked others that use Samsung or LG among others if they have had issues like this. They have not!!!

Motomouf, I know how important your phone is to you and I assure you that our goal is to make sure it is working properly at all times. I recommend checking to make sure you don't have any apps constantly running in the background that would drain the battery. Have you recently installed any new apps lately? If so, I recommend removing them temporarily to see if the battery life improves. Also, make sure that it is running on the latest software version. You can use the link below to check for the latest update. You can also use the other link below to run a health check on your device to see what is affecting the battery life. Let us know if this helps.

I completely understand your suggestion of checking for running apps and shutting them down to see if they improve battery life. But, that doesn't address the issue me and others are having with our Motorola Turbo.
It is automatically shutting down with 25%+ Battery Life left.
It's almost like a firmware upgrade occurred to cause this and frustrate us into purchasing a newer phone.

This has been happening to my wife's phone for quite a while and has started happening to mine as well. Guess the phones are just getting old. Haven't had an Android update since 6.0 and 10 is out now.

Agree. This definitely is a sudden change so do not start with application garbage or anything other than something done to our service to force a new phone on us. My husband and I have the same phone purchased at the same time and we are both experiencing this issue. Been with Verizon a very long time but may need to consider options based on the malicious motives I suspect here. We are mostly at home but travel several weeks a year and this is a huge problem. VERIZON, you need to solve this problem. NOW.

Same problem here as others reported with the Droid Turbo shutting down with plenty of battery power. I went to the verizon store and they told me that will happen with a phone "that old" and the phone can't handle newer apps. I told the guy it happens with camera, just texting, etc. He said that texting would still cause problems, which I don't believe. Its not like a "TEXT" message is a sophisticed app (?). I ran the health check Sunday and no battery or charge issues. Sunday, the battery was at 86% when it shut down (an no backgroud apps running). I have to keep in plugged into a portable device if I'm not at home and unplug from the OEM charger--and I told him I have no shut down problems. He also said that should be what happens. I asked the rep about the extended warranty that I've been paying for, and he told me the same thing will happen if I got a replacement. I've been with Verizon wireless since at least 2004 (probably longer). This isn't the first time, at three times I've been left out in the cold when having phone issues with Verizon and forced to buy a new phone. Solution: I just went to Xfinity and ordered a new Sumsung 10+ and will be paying just about the same per month as my regular Verizon bill--but will also have new phone and a $250 rebate card. Bye-Bye! Will be posting this public on Facebook too!

This was happening to me as well (and my wife). We both have droid turbos (ours were 3+ years old). All the research I saw was that it was the battery not being able to supply enough power after it discharges some (the percentage can vary quite a bit from phone to phone). I did a full factory reset of my phone as many posts suggested that as a fix, but it did not change a thing. I looked into having the battery replaced at about $70 (with a year warranty) and was planning on going that route, but was able to get a better phone for a little more than that (black friday sale).

I did all that. Did a factory reset and did not re install any new apps. Still did it. between 25% and 40% if I do anything like take a pic or just message (and not in Message +), Shuts off. No warning that the battery is low.

I think that phone came out in 2014. It's probably beyond it's useful life.

I appreciate all that you have already tried, oldhardrock. I know the importance of needing a good working phone at all times!
When did you do the Reset? Has it improved at all since the Reset?

My phone is doing the same thing, I've done everything mentioned short of full reset and nothing has helped. Not too sure if Verizon can help much though with the phone being "ancient" in terms of phones these days. I wouldn't be surprised if it's some "bug" sent out to get people to buy new phones as mentioned earlier!

Yea my charging port is shot, so I have to use wireless chargers all the time. I bought a mousepad that has a wireless charger on it and I have to put my home wireless charger in my go bag for work or wherever I am going.

This happens to me every mother fudging day!!! Whether I am sitting in my truck, at work, or at the house. Most irritating thing ever. Then once I get the phone to come back on, I have had it last till 2% battery life with no problems. But at 39%- 31% the phone thinks it is dead.

I rely on my device to work properly at all times and want to ensure you can rely on your device as well, Thisguyhere99. Let's take a closer look into what's going on with your phone powering down around 39%. When did this start? Has there been any damage to the phone? Are you using the charger that came with the phone?
