Will insurance cover water damage?

I just "upgraded" my phone to the droid turbo 2 less than two months ago, (I traded my old phone,and pay a certain amount every month added to my bill im planning on buying this phone.) I dropped my phone in the toilet and it still worked for about a day and a half then went black screen, but I can still answer calls, they can hear me and I can hear them. does asurion protection(warranty) cover water damage?this will be my fist claim in 12 months
