Will the Moto X be too good for Verizon to ruin it?

Imagine, if you will, a phone with the screen and processor of the Droid DNA (minus the storage that would have been seen laughable three frickin' years ago); the battery life of the Droid Maxx HD (minus the lame screen), and the storage of the S4 (minus the godawful hardware home button).

This could be the phone for which I can feel good about ponying up the sticker price so that I can keep my unlimited data and not "share" it with my nonexistent children.

Which makes me nervous, because this would be a truly epic phone, and we all know that Verizon isn't happy if their customers can legitimately say "holy cow, this is The Best Phone, I want it." And yet, since it's cross-carrier, they'll look really stupid if they decide to cut the storage in half, though they'll probably use their usual excuse of "well, our network is so gosh-darn awesome, you can just get that extra 16 GB from The Cloud - at a cool dollar per gig!"

Could this really be the summer in which we get a straight-up killer phone that blows everything away like the OG Dinc did when it launched? I sure hope so.

Phone manufactures of new phones always put out a lot of hype on their new phones but when everyone goes out and buys these new phones they are not always what they expected from the hype they have read and then they come back here with all the how do I make this happen and why does this not always work.  Never fails to happen.  I hope you were trying to say run it not ruin it.  But by the time VZW put all the bloatware and they remove some of the functions of the phone as they did on some others I know of you will probably be correct with this phone.

if you think Verizon is so awful why bother staying a customer? Why not go with a carrier that doesn't "ruin" phones?

Maybe was not happy with them either for worse reasons than unhappy with VZW.  VZW may be the least of all evils.  You have to make choices but you don't always have to be happy about it.  Maybe just expressing unhappiness in hopes someone might be listening (doubtful).  This same sort of thing goes on at all companies.  All these companies could/should be as good as they CLAIM to be, but they are not and don't even try.

I still have a few lines with Verizon atm cause two are basic phones and another under contract.  After waiting a year for a decent upgrade (3 yrs same phone), I gave up on having  a decent choice with Verizon and just got the HTC ONE on AT&T.
