when I purchased verizon told me this would do everything ipad could do. I have a presentation that invloves viewing a 30 seceond video that is supported by quicktime. Is there anything I can do. Ipad supports this application.
You may need to install a different video player app from the market. My guess is that Apple would not allow Google to include the codec for quicktime natively within android. I did a quick search of the market and found a couple apps that claimed to play any format video, including .mov, so that would probably be your best bet.
try Moboplayer in the market. I think it will nativly play mov files

Whoever told you that the xoom could do anything the iPad can do is an idiot. That is the same as telling you that a PC does everything that a Mac does.
For a list of compatible video formats see http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html#core
As others have already mentioned, there may be apps that will help, but if you want an iPad, you should buy an iPad. They are really about the same price.

In theory computer can do what any other can. All that matters is the development support. The problems lies with licenses if something does or not
