How do i set audible notifcations for text messages? How do I get it to show the dot when there is an unread message?
BERNIEP52, we know the importance of being able to hear your text alerts. We are here to help.
Here is a link to make sure Text Notifications are turned ON within your phone's settings. It they are off, then you would not see a new message alert or hear when you get one https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-206586/
Also, you would want to ensure that the phone is not in Do Not Disturb mode as well https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-205228/
Looking over the Moto Z Droid/ Moto Z Force Droid, we are not seeing anything referred to as a Dot. Can you please provide us with more information on what you mean by a Dot? Usually, when notifications are turned on you would see a number on the Message icon that would indicate an unread message.
One last thing as well to review. If you are using Message+ and have the Message Preview pop up option turned ON, then the Message+ app would not show an unread message.

I figured it out myself. The dot is what appears on the message icon when I have text (or an e-mail) I do not get a number.
