no text sound notification

I have a motorolla 5g and this is the second verizon phone that I have had with NO sound notification for text messages.  I am ready to return it because I am so frustrated with it.  I want this rectified or I am taking it back and will go with another provider.  I hope to have an easy fix.

We know how important it is to be able to get text message notifications, Taffy4. Which texting application are you using?
