Good day PamelaKeifert-Warrington By chance are you using the Messages+ app? If so you can change this setting by tapping on the icon on the top left of the screen. From there you will want to click on Settings. Under Settings you should see an option to "Highlight words for emojis" or something along the lines. I forget the exact verbiage. From there you will want to uncheck this option. That will allow you to make the words not be highlighted or show in a bubble.

Misspelled words? Or words that you can use as emojis?
