Anyway, this Fios TV mobile app does not let me view NBC Sports Philadelphia channel 576. Why not? it is part of my subscription. It does not work on this app.. Spins for a while and then says Playback Timeout. I try and again and it doesnt work. Then i also tried it away from home and it said, content not available but other channels worked. Why is this not working on the app?? Also, the ads take a while, but i guess i cant do anything about that.

Cant edit this now so commenting. So today i was using this app and the NBC Sports Phila channel , 576, did work on my phone, but once the MLB game started , it said content not available. So are the MLB games not available through the Fios TV Mobile App?? the pre game show was working. Once 4pm hit and game started, ...Content not Avail.

i called MLB and they were nice. They told me that they dont block this content and said to contact the Phillies.
MLB thinks that Verizon may block the games on the Fios app. The guy from MLB said to ask the Phillies about the contract.

I called in already and they did not have an answer for me. I wanted to get an answer. Need that.
MLB said that they do not block the content, but they said to call the Phillies and ask for contracts dept. Wish someone at Verizon knew something.

So the solution is to use the NBC sports app and log in to Fios. Why no one at Verizon could tell me this is baffling, but that is the real solution here. It works! Works during game. So it worked on my computer and on phone app. Solved.

I am not sure if this solution will help you. I had this issue, I was getting error ending in 1003 on the app if I went to channel 576 or channel 616. VZ support figured out the issue was I set my dns servers on the router to a static dns (to dns servers that block malware sites). Those channels do not load on the app unless you are connected to your Verizon router and the router is set to use the Verizon dns servers (meaning dns is set to be auto configured in the router settings). That fixed the issue for me. I hope it helps fix it for you.

The app works for the channel. Not sure if you read my comments, but the app works for channel 576, but once the game comes on, cant watch it. I can only watch on my tv but not on the app. After game is over or if pregame is on, i can watch that on 576. Make sense?? It used to work on app last yr, but not this year. Also, it doesnt work at home or away from home. And doesnt work at home on phone or on pc (for the actual game). It only works for the channel wherever i am or whoevers router or wifi I use.
Fios had no answer for me and told me they werent sure. They said to call MLB and I did. MLB said to contact Phillies contracts dept and i never got to that. I do pay to watch this channel and have the app, but the games are blocked on the app. Luckily, I watch Phillies games mostly at home on my tv. When i visit my mom, no games for me because she has the bare bone basic subscription with Verizon and i cant watch on my phone after the pregame and commercials are done. Bummer.

Sounds to me the games themselves are being blacked out either by the Phillies, MLB or the local channel. There are a lot of examples where content providers do not allow content to be streamed because it competes with their pay app, and this looks like one of them. Somebody is not giving you a straight answer, probably the broadcaster themselves. I'd bet there is a pay for view app for the games you are missing, and Fios probably doesn't have a contract with them to stream the games. That's why you can see the preview show, but not the actual games, and can see other content from that channel.

No idea, but i found the solution...
These games do not show on my Fios Tv App, but they do stream when i use the NBC sports app on phone and nbc.com/sports on pc. Just have to log in to verizon fios. This is only a problem when using Fios TV app, not when using NBC sports app. this is solved and i dont have to call the phillies and ask for contracts dept like MLB suggested. Verizon had no solution for me but this is it. Not sure why they didnt suggest using the NBC sports app? i got the solution eventually. Took wayyyy too long but got it before playoffs! And when i am at my moms house, she has bare bone verizon subscrip so i can watch game on my phone.

If she has a smart TV you should be able to put the NBC Sports app on the TV and login using your Verizon credentials. Or cast the phone to the TV.

Ok, so my mom doesnt have a smart tv so that is out. Casting to tv is a good idea, but i dont think her tv can handle that. She is old school. I can do that on mine maybe for youtube but dont need to for tv at my place. Thanks though. I can just watch on my phone which works. Bot line is that the Fios App wont give u the games, only other content on 576. Used it last night on phone while watching another show on tv which was cool. Verizon should tell u ab this NBC sports app option but i guess it isnt really something they have to tell us. Just my opinion and thanks.

How about a Roku or Firestick? I know another investment, but maybe mom would like some of the streaming options for the $35 a Roku would cost. As long as her TV has an HDMI input! 😁 Never thought of the NBC Sports app, I'm not familiar with the TV stations in Philly! Good call on your part!
