I have seen that you can stream from the fios app if you have Verizon wireless and fios without it affecting your data. Unfortunately I tried this and it consumed my data. Is it limited to certwin channels on the app? I received all the emails and notifications that I am eligible for this.

For fios I have the triple play, tv, internet and phone. My wireless is unlimited talk and text with 5gb data a month. I received the emails regarding the unlimited streaming with the fios app and when i launched the fios app I also received the message. I checked with Verizon about the validity and I was told it was correct. Like I said, I tried it and it consumed my data.

That may be what your plan has, but that is not the name of your plan. It certainly sounds as if you do NOT have the Verizon Plan with that data allowance.

Yes, I have seen Verizon reps indicate that all Verizon Plans are eligible, but I find it odd if that is the case that ALL written information about this offer online ONLY mentions the Verizon Plan when talking about eligibility. It does not mention the More Everything Plan or older plans. Because of this, I would be EXTREMELY hesitant to stream a large amount of video before confirming this by actually streaming a small amount and then seeing if it counts against your allowance.

I just got this plan on Saturday, it was switched from what I had, not sure what the name of it is. Yeah, their write ups aren't very clear and every time I talk to someone I am told I can stream without it using me data which is not working for me.

You still haven't stated what plan you have, but with a 5 GB data allowance do you have a pre-paid plan?

It's not a prepaid. According to the website it's the new Verizon Plan Single Smartphone 5gb.

SUZROU10,
Your concerns surrounding the data being used while streaming with the FiOS Mobile app are definitely real. Based on the information you've shared, the data should not be used while streaming from that particular app. Have you confirmed what type of usage is showing up via the data utilization tool http://vz.to/1XzxMwm via My Verizon? When checking your usage, does any of the data amounts being used show up under Freebee Data?

Having extra data can always help throughout the month SUZROU10. What make/model phone do you have? What software version are you running?

I have an iPhone 7 running the latest version of the iOS. I can't
afford to buy extra data. I thought the whole thing with this new
feature of having FIOS and wireless was being able to stream through the
app without it eating your data. That's all I'm looking to do, not
stream anything else.

I called and was told they never heard of the free data when using you Fios Mobile app.
So What exactly is the truth on this, according to a news article on Verizon.com dated March 9,2017.
the data should be free on the Small Medium and Large plans...?????

Yes that still should offer free streaming with the Fios Mobile App. What device type are you using it on? Is your Fios Mobile App updated to the latest version?

Hi
Sorry for the delay on this, I have an iPhone 8 and yes it is the latest Fios mobile app, we just moved into an area with Fios a few weeks ago.
Not sure if it would have an effect but the Fios account is in my name and the Verizon Wireless account is in my wife's name.
I had to change the number on my phone this week to a local number so I can no longer check to see if any credit had showed up, as what shows on the account is the data used on the new account but I will try again one day next week.
